The fateful reunion..

And just like that, the barriers were down with the four men surrounding Virgil. The volley had since ceased. The demon would look upon the four that have surrounded him. A slight grin from excitement would appear on it's face. Benkei had now taken the lead himself, throwing out black thorns from the ground. He had claimed that neither man or creature had ever avoided this attack. The first of the spikes had come from Virgil. With a slight side step to the right, the demon was able to avoid the spikes. Much to Benkei's surprise, the spikes continued to attack. Virgil had been able to keep up with the multiple spikes, avoiding them one by one with ease. It wasn't until the demon stopped it's movements as the spikes came. He would instead begin to strike down each spike with his bare hands!

Kane watched, analyzing the demon’s movement. ”This thing is pretty fast.” As he watched, he noticed the creature’s arm was more transformed than the rest of its body. It reminded him of the fighter who participated in the tournament back in Galatia. ”Could it be...” He continued to watch as the creature tore through the metal thorns, as if they were actually made of wood.

Also watching from a distance was Nir, who was positioned to the demon’s left side. He held out Lionheart, ”Lionheart, I’m going to need you on this one!” The lionhead on the shield had opened its eyes, beginning to glow and encase itself in light. “Understood Nir.” A voice said from the shied before being thrown at the demon. The shield passed through mid-air, shining with much brilliance, aimed directly for the demon’s side. At the same time, Van had raised both hands. To assist Nir, he had clapped his hands together, conjuring the Twilight energy. From the demon’s right arose a wall of the mysterious energy.

”Good work guys.” Kane thought to himself, picking up on Stella’s presence from behind him. He’d turn his head slightly, hoping that they didn’t come out into the open. ”Please stay hidden...” The three would continue running forward, with Kira and Tobias panting heavily. ”I cannot...keep doing this...I’m going to pass out my girl!” The old man had stopped, hunching over. Kira had also stopped, placing her hands on her head, trying to catch her breath. ”You’re....you’re so out of shape old man!” Stella had stopped ahead, holding her arm out. ”Don’t worry! We won’t proceed any further. If these four are taking this thing on, we have no business joining. We’d only be a burden to them. I’ll protect you two. So find some cover.”

Benkei had become agitated as the beast would best his powerful moves ".....you beast....you will fall". The metal spikes would continue to shoot at the demon as it was attracted to the large amount of misra coming off the creature. Sadly they could not reach or pierce the beast and lightning started to crackle from benkei as this dark misra from the beast started to have some affect on benkei "......this needs to die before my friends suffer " benkei would clap his hands beside van. Van had conjured a mysterious wall of twilight magic towards the right of the beast so benkei would chant spell as he conjured a wall of black metal forming three dragon heads as their eyes began to glow "Gates of the dragon god arise from my tribute ! Ghidorahs Gate !" The dragon head would sliver forward from the door watching the demon as lightning formed in their mouths ready to fire and strike in combination with van .

Things were beginning to heat up more as the battle raged on. The ground had shook from the violent attacks made by the combatants. The spikes proved to be ineffective allowing Nir to take the lead this time. Lionheart was tossed at the demon with a bright white glow. Along with that, Van had provided more fire power, conjuring a wall of twilight energy. Benkei's anger had gotten the better of him as he had conjured up a metal three-headed dragon gate. He too would send in another attack. It had seemed that they were giving it all the had. The grin on demon's face had not ceased. Rather he was enjoying his time and not taking the fight seriously.

Moments before the attacks could reach the demon, he had looked to Kane and pointing at him directly. This was it's way of saying, "they can't defeat me. Come fight me." The grin was even bigger than before. The attacks had finally got close enough to cause an explosion upon impact. The strength behind this combined attack had caused the ground to vibrate as well as the air. From the demon's position, a crater was formed with a cloud of dust rising.

As the area began to clear, the demon was no longer to be found. This would most certainly be a cause for concern. While, those around would wonder what could've happened, they were not keen enough to notice the demon had already appeared before Nir. Within his right hand, Nir was held up by his neck. Seeing this sight would show that the demon was much larger up close. Roughly about 7 feet tall. The demon's left hand had already been position to pierce through Nir's stomach. Even being as close as they were, Van and Benkei were not fast enough to react let alone stop the demon. This was the moment that Nir would die on the battlefield.

Elsewhere, the cart carrying Shinji's group had been closing in on the outpost. Reaching the top of a hill, the ruins of the outpost could be seen clearly. Remi as well as Shinji and Biggs would show a look of despair. Their friend was losing his humanity with every time he turns into that creature. Anna had not looked outside due to the fact she was asleep with Koji cuddled in her lap. "Looks like he's more destructive." Miranda would say to Nostradamus. "Yes. It would seem as though the influence has grown stronger. Meaning the seal has weakened." He would reply. "Then we should hurry..." Miranda would say as she whipped the reigns hard, causing the horse to move faster.

The combined attack had caused an explosion that could be heard miles away. It had shook the very earth itself, collapsing some of the remaining structures in the outpost area. Both Kira and Tobias had held each other in fear. ”What’s going on over there!?!? I’m so afraid!!!! Grandpa!!!” Tobias had held Kira firmly, looking over to Stella. ”Don’t worry my girl, we’ll be okay!” Stella had stood there wearing a worried expression. ”Nir...” She said, hoping that her dear friend was okay.

Back on the battlefield, the four were surpised to see the crater left behind empty. The settling dust had revealed the creature’s abscence from his previous location. ”He’s gone!” Nir said, looking around. ”There’s no way that dealt with that thing....” Kane had suddenly turned to Nir, catching on to the creature’s presence. ”No!!!” Before Nir could even react, the demon had appeared before him, grabbing him by the throat and raising him in the air. ”Gaaagh!!!!” The young man had held onto the creature’s arm, struggling to break free.

”What!?” Van said, turning towards the creature, who held Nir in its grasp. There was no time for them to even react, as the demon had already gone in for the kill. However, before the demon could make contact, Kane had appeared in front of the demon, crouched low enough with his arm cocked back. ”You won’t harm any of them on my watch!!!!” A blue glint had appeared on Kane’s arm, as he punched towards the demon’s abdomen. ”Death Shot!!!!” From his fist erupted a powerful explosion that would not only be directed at Virgil!!!! At the same time, this was a small window for Nir to plan his escape. ”Lionheart!”

Kane had quickly sprang into action, with Nir being in emanate danger. He'd unleash an attack called "Death Shot," towards it's abdomen. It was a powerful blow, strong enough to push the creature back a few feet. This would loosen it's grip on Nir's neck, allowing for the perfect opportunity for Nir to escape. Upon Nir's escape, the demon would keel over from surprise rather than being injured. Slowly raising it's head at Kane. The grin grew more as it  would seem the demon could finally be entertained. The demon had prepared itself to face Kane. Taking up a much more defensive stance, it would study Kane for a brief moment. The creature would not advance in the same manner as with the other three. Amongst the four men, it could identify who of them was the strongest. It was astounding already the demon's strength and speed. With this recent development of it's thought process has proved the demon has significant intelligence rather than pure instinct.

As benkei and vans attacked collided where the demon had stood all that was left was a crater but they both knew better than to think the beast was truly dead "where did that fiend good ...Stop playing with us !". As benkei began to lose his cool the demon had appeared in front of nir grabbing him and choking him, the speed at which the creature had moved was beyond what the eye could see . Benkei was shocked but angry as he would not let his beast kill a friend again remembering dolphy "Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Lightning had began crackling more and loud as the ground started to shake beneath him and the surrounding area, it could be felt like tremors to those far away. Before Benkei could do anything Kane took it upon himself to stun the creature with a powerful attack giving nir the chance to escape . The beast seem to be enjoying this and smiling at Kane as he chose to focus on him over the rest "......him.....it chooses him......I will not be denied this chance to end it!!!!!! ". Whatever misra was leaking out of the beast was also being drawn to benkei as if it was corrupting him slowly ....as if he wanted it's approval to be the strongest "....never again never again !!!!!!". The gloves on benkei arms started to shift slowly becoming slowly dimmer and darker as if reacting to his negative emotions. He would rush at the beast from behind with his fist in the air hovering above the demon Virgil. The clouds above turn black shooting purple lightning down on benkei fist as he began to bring it down on the beast like a thunderstorm and a hammer "RAMUH GUILLOTINE!". If this struck the beast or the ground the surrounding area might be blown away.

With the window to escape, Nir did not hesitate in making a move! The moment Virgil’s grip had loosened, Lionheart had erupted from underground, having previously burrowed through the soil when Nir was first grabbed. It’d ram into Virgil’s arm, helping Nir pry loose, where he’d grab the shield, land and quickly dash away from both Kane and Virgil. When he was far enough, he held onto his neck, beginning to pant. ”This thing is too much for us...” He said. There was suddenly a surge of Misra! It had caught Benkei’s attention, causing him to turn to him as he appeared above Virgil. ”Benkei!!!! What are you doing!?!?”

Van had also watched from afar. He had sucked his teeth, ”You fool...” He gritted his teeth, conflicted in his choice to either move in and aide Benkei, or to let him attack alone. ”Dammit!” He yelled out, holding onto his blade tightly before quickly moving in to support Benkei. ”Stay back!!!!” Kane yelled, directing the order to Van, who’d suddenly stop in his tracks. ”You’ll only make it worse!!!!”

As all of this was unfolding, Lionheart had once again called out to Nir. “Nir, Faith is the key.” The young man, who was drawn to Benkei and his attack, had looked down at the shield. “That blade is a key to defeating it! Take hold and wield it against him Nir!” Nir was confused by Lionheart’s words. All he could do is look at the sword. ”Is it really??”

The anger within Benkei had begun to swell up, to where he could no longer contain it. Having flashbacks of Dolphy losing his life before him, he could not let something like this happen again! Even when faced with an overwhelming foe, he'd still do what he could to stop it. This time he had no real plan of action. Instead, his anger blinded him from any rational strategy. This was noted by Nir, shouting at him to get his attention. His voice would not reach him. Benkei would continue on with his attack with Van following up. Immediately Kane had told him not to attack. Without any retaliation at all, Van obediently listened to The Blast.

The purple lightning had came crashing down on Benkei's fists. This was about to be a powerful attack, birthed by his rage. Unfortunately, the demon hadn't acknowledged Benkei coming at him from behind. It would instead raise it's arms from the sides. Kane had already knew the demon wasn't showing it's true strength but now... But now was the time the demon decided to show a bit of it's true power. The darkened purple Misra with a black outline would begin to seep out. Small debris would begin to rumble on the ground. The demon's excitement grew. Benkei was now within striking range. HIs punch would connect with the demon but now how one would expect.

The ground beneath the two would crater and cause quite the eruption. Moments after the area was cleared, the demon had stood there on his lonesome, looking away from Kane. It would redirection back to Kane ready to fight but Benkei was no longer here.

To the others, it had appeared that Benkei managed to land the hit. But once the dust settled, he was nowhere to be found. ”Dammit....” Kane said, gritting his teeth as he glared at the demon. ”You son of a bitch....” Van stood back, looking on in confusion. ”Where did Benkei go?” He asked, looking around for any sight of the young man. ”I need you all to leave!!! This has become a matter of life, or death, and I’m not letting anyone die here on my watch!” Van had stepped forward, ”You can’t possibl—“ Kane had suddenly yelled out, ”Van!!!! Dammit! Just listen to me, get away from here!” He said, locking his eyes with the demon before him.

Behind him was Nir, wearing a blank expression. He had assumed the worst for Benkei, triggering memories of Alexander and Dolphy. All the lives lost in Galatia during the attack had suddenly came back to haunt him, with an image of Persephone finally coming to mind. ”No.....Benkei....” Nir said, lowering his head as he held tightly onto Faith. ”You’ll....You’ll pay for what you’ve done....” Faith’s glow grew brighter, with the pulse picking up speed. A white Misra had formed around the sword, spreading onto Nir’s forearm. ”I cannot allow such evil to harm anyone else!!!” Glowing feathers sprouted from the sword’s hilt, beginning to partially change into an armor that’d cover Nir’s arm. Both Van and Kane would pick up the change in Misra, turning to Nir. ”....”

This was a surprise to Nir, who looked at his arm in shock. ”What—What is this?” He asked, raising the sword. “Faith calls to you boy! Use its power that it is granting you!” Lionheart said. ”I don’t know why it calls to me now, but if that’s the case, then I’ll put it all into this!” Nir swung to sword to his side, sliding his feet and bending his knees, as if he preparing for an attack. ”Radiant....” He said softly. ”Strike!!!!!!” Nir had quickly swung the blade, sending a powerful arc of the brilliant Misra! It’s form was pure, and as it traveled towards the demon, it had given off a harmonic hum. ”That magic....” Kane said, quickly moving out of the way. To assist Nir’s attack, Van had quickly clapped his hands, forming a wall behind the demon with the Twilight magic.

As benkei attack connected with the demon, the creature still payed no mind to him as he produced his own attack to collide with benkei with very little thought or amusement. The attacks colliding caused a huge explosion sending benkei flying away damaged and in pain possibly in a close location to his other comrades. This sudden attack from the demon along with benkei attack caused a crater that fooled benkei's friend into thinking he had perished without a trace. As benkei collapsed to the ground defeated and damaged his body as well as gauntlets began to glow lightly but with a darker more sister glow of misra. He couldn't move but his anger could be felt from within his very body. He lay there drifting from consciousness to unconscious

It would seem the others could not comprehend what had just happened in those few moments of Benkei and the demon's interaction. This had understandably anger them. Kane had halted Van before doing anything, while Nir had a surge of energy flow from Faith. The brilliant light that emerged had peaked no only the interest of Kane but the demon as well. It was curious to know what it is was about this bright light that attracts it so. In mere moments as Nir took this opportunity to attack, the demon Virgil had for the first time, stepped back from an attack. This was extremely uncharacteristic. Van had assisted Nir, casting a wall of Twilight Misra. The demon had been corned and could not back away from Nir's attack.

With a downward slash, the demon had been dealt a massive blow! It's screech could be heard as far as Nostradamus and the others were. "It seems whoever is there, is much more capable than expected." Miranda would say "Yes this is true but... Assuming these people can hold their own, how long will Virgil last in this state?" Nostradamus would express his concerns. Shinji had opened up the curtains, revealing the two. "Was that-" "We'll be there very soon." Shinji would say but would be immediately interrupted by Miranda. They were close but not close enough.

It was a hit!! The demon had been successfully damaged by Nir’s attack! Both Kane and Van had looked on in shock, turning to Nir, who had continued to hold the partial transformation. ”That magic....” This magic was something rarely seen in the world of Galea, only possessed by special people. To witness it used on this scale had left him in awe. Van, meanwhile, had continued to gaze on. ”Where did this power come from?” He thought to himself.

Nir had been panting. The transformation, and use of Faith, had sapped much Misra from him. Just continuing to have the form activated had fatigued him. ”I—I can’t....I can’t even...” The angelic armor had suddenly disappeared, leaving stumbling to his knee. ”Why am...Why am I so exhausted?” He asked, beginning to sweat profusely.

As this had all been transpiring, Stella had been healing Benkei, who had landed near her. The young man was severely damaged, bleeding from the side of his head and seemingly unconscious. ”Hang in there Benkei! I’ll help you!” Kira had watched on over Stella’s shoulder, ”Is he going to be okay!?” While she questioned Stella, Tobias had paced back and forth, crossing his arms. ”This isn’t good! If poor Benkei has been beaten to a pulp like this, what has become of the others!?”

As benkei lay there defeated and barely conscious drifting in and out he could hear a voice ringing in his head that was not familiar "WEAK, PATHETIC, USELESS!". The voice repeated this to Benkei as it was coming from the negative emotions of the demon itself but reacting to something within benkei. As Stella was healing benkei he would grab her wrist with fright but with anger and almost killer intent. His eyes were not the same and not of his own as if it was of someone else. For a moment he gave off a dark aura as he looked dead into her eyes ,into her very soul before passing out again and his gaunlets would crack and look almost in recognizable.

For the first time the demon had been brought to a knee. It would hold it's open wound, from where Nir had struck him. They were equally as surprised to see an effective blow. This unfortunately would only anger the demon. After writhing in pain, it would begin to raise itself a bit. From it's mouth, a dark purple projectile began to form. The Misra gathered was quite powerful and was meant to kill. It would be fired off like a laser in Nir's direction.

”Everything will be okay Benkei.” Stella said softly, healing him slowly with the little knowledge she possessed. But as she continued to do so, Benkei had suddenly grabbed her wrist, hurting her in the process. ”Benkei! You’re hurting me!” She said, struggling to escape his grasp as she looked into his eyes. What she saw was nothing like before. It was something dark, full of hatred and malice. As he let go, his eyes slowly closing as he succumbed to his damage, she retracted her hand. ”Are you okay Stella!?” Asked Kira. ”Was that truly Benkei?” Tobias had asked. Stella remained quiet, holding her hand. ”I’m.....I’m okay...”

Back with the others, they were still face-to-face with the demon. Nir’s attack managed to bring it to his knees, but now they were down two fighters. Kane had looked over to the demon, analyzing the damage done. ”So, Holy Magic affects you? Which means, that blade is our key to defeating you huh?” Finally, a glimmer of hope for the group. ”I don’t know....I don’t know how I did that? But I feel...so...tired...” Nir said, collapsing to the ground. He was an open target for the demon, who was only angered further more! The creature had charged a beam, firing it from its mouth! Before it could take Nir, Kane had appeared at his side, quickly grabbing him and darting off! However, while doing so, the beam had grazed his arm. ”Shit!” At the same time, Lionheart had grabbed onto Faith, following in Kane’s wake. Van watched as the beam travelled across the ground, striking a mountainous range in the distance and setting of a dark explosion! ”What power....”

Before the demon's attack could hit it's mark, Kane had stepped in to save Nir. The blast would just barely graze Kane as he darted across. Van would noticed how devastating the demon's power truly was at this point. Suddenly, it truly was in his best interest not to interfere. The beam had extended far enough that Nostradamus' group could see. They'd all have a look of surprise as Shinji made his move first. "WE HAVE TO HURRY!!" The young man would say, dashing off. "Shinji!" Remi would shout. "It's ok. We should all hurry as well." Miranda would wave her off. "Biggs!" She would call out gaining his attention. "You two! Follow Shinji!" Miranda would command. Remi and Biggs both looked to one another. With a head nod they would dash forward as well. Nostradamus had a troubled look on his face as he continued to look in the direction of Virgil.

The demon had now been in pursuit of Kane who had been holding Nir. Each step grew more violent than the last. Misra would begin to rage about from the monster. It had circled around it's arms, signifying that it would strike with it's hands. As the distance closed, the demon would leap at least 30 feet into the air. WIthout any further hesitation, came crashing down on Kane and Nir with it's left fist. The devastating impact would cause a similar effect much like the beam from just a few moments ago.

As van, nir and Kane dealt with the demon and it's tremendous power, benkei was out for the count. His rage and strength were not enough to graze the creature or even catch it's attention but a power within benkei was causing more harm than good as he unintentionally scared Stella who was helping him. Benkei would slowly open his eyes as his whole body felt so heavy,it was almost as if he was drained of his misra and his very soul "w.....where am...I....I must kill the beast before ....it hurts anyone else ....they need me ". He would look at Stella as she was healing him "thank you my lady I hope I didn't worry you ". Although he ment well the damage was done as all she could see was the monster within him

Kane hd quickly moved, holding onto Nir. ”You have to let go...You’ll get us both killed...” Nir said, suggesting that Kane let him go. ”Are you kidding me!? Just be quiet for a second Nir!” Kane replied, quickly taking notice of the demon’s position. ”He’s too damn fast!” Kane said, abruptly tossing Nir aside and holding his arms out. The demon had come crashing down on Kane, where it was met by Van’s Twilight energy. A barrier had formed above Kane, protecting him. But all could truly do was lessen the damage, for the demon’s power was too great. It had shattered the barrier, proceeding with its attack, where an explosion had been set off!

From the smoke flew out Kane, bleeding from the side of his head and shirtless. He was scathed and had been wearing a serious expression. ”If it wasn’t for that, I’d be out for the count...” He said, landing away from the crash site and sliding back. Van would appear by his side, holding the handle of his blade. ”What do we do against this thing? It’s been brushing our attacks aside...”

Back with Stella, she had been frozen. She didn’t understand what had just transpired. All she could do was hold her hand, looking into Benkei’s eyes. Tobias had noticed it, leaning forward to offer some words. ”My boy, perhaps you should rest a bit more...”

As Kane had narrowly escaped, the demon would emerge from the crater. It would pace towards Kane. It's movements were much slower than before. After a few more steps, the demon would hold it's wounded chest. Nir's strike had done much more damage than originally thought! The demon had finally showed signs of slowing down, giving the others an opportunity to counter attack. In this seemingly hopeless battle, the odds have shifted in favor of NIr's party. This would hold true however...

In the time it took for Kane and the others to realize this was the chance to strike back, Shinji had appeared on top of some ruined buildings. He had a full view of the 4 down below. His chest would be pumping from the amount of running he had to do. Sweat was dripping down the side of his face. He had also been gritting his teeth after seeing the countless dead bodies along the way. "I'm sorry, my friend..." He would say quietly to himself, balling his fists in anger.

Benkei lay there as he could tell something was off with the girls and tobias "I I is everything okay my Ladies?" Benkei lay there wincing from the pain but eager to return to the fight "I can't just sit here they could die at any moment". He would collapse back down as he tried to stand up "I barely have any or no misra left but I do have my strength to fight and what little speed I have , conserve what I have ". He would look at Stella as she healed him trying to get some words or a answer from her but he could still see that look of fear in her eyes " my lady why do u look at me so? ". Benkei was very unaware of the darkness in his body that was trying to make itself known but wasn't strong enough to be born yet. He would slowly start to get up and force it upon himself to join the fight knowing someone close could die

Both Kane and Van had stared down the demon, together side by side. They couldn’t help but take notice of the wound it sustained, and the effect it had on the demon. ”Nir’s sword managed to damage this thing…” Kane nodded, ”Yeah, I know…That sword’s our only hope. Unfortunately…” He looked to the side, ”Its wielder is not looking too good..” Van had sighed, ”…Seems so.” Van said, looking up in Shinji’s direction. ”So you felt him too? And looks awfully familiar too”

Nir had been laying on the ground. He had been trembling from the pain. ”I can’t even move…” With all the strength he could muster, he was able to turn onto his stomach. ”…I’ve got to do something…” His power escaped him as he crawled towards Van and Kane. If not for his will, he’d be laying unconcious. “Nir! Move no further!” Said Lionheart, which had flown in, stabbing Faith into the ground before Nir. “You cannot continue. Allow me to shield you.” From the shield generated a field of light energy, protecting Nir.

Back with Stella, Kira and Tobias, they had watched in silence as Benkei walked off, pulling himself to the battlefield. ”Wait! Benkei!! You can’t!” Kira called out. Tobias would set his arm before her, closing his eyes. ”Let him go. Nothing we say will prevent him from going to help the others, no matter the condition he is in.” Stella had remained silent, holding her wrist.

It would seem that Van and Kane both noticed Shinji's presence. During that brief moment, the demon had taken this time to attack while they were distracted. It would take to the sky, leaping forward. After the great jump, it would come crashing down on top of the two bounty hunters. Debris from the attack would shuffle around in the air. More destruction would follow after yet another devastating blow. Shinji would watch trying to take everything in.

As benkei tried to return to his comrades, stella, kira and tobias all voiced there concern's about benkei well being as he forced his way back on the battlefield. He was healed but not to his full potential only a fraction of what he could do. Benkei grabbed his shoulder as if it felt dislocated "filthy beast must have hurt me good when he swatted me away ". He could hear the madness of the creature as he continued forward and slammed his shoulder against a tree to push it back in "SON OF A WHORE THAT STINGS". As the creature flew up in the air and crashed the attack would creature wind pressure that would be felt throughout the battle field sending it towards benkei "dam it does this thing not have a limit !!!" As benkei Drew closer he would feel something familiar close by "I know this misra ....from somewhere..." Benkei would finally reach his team and hold his staff at hand "this thing is not even close to death yet !". He would then notice the deep injury on its chest that was causing it to go this insane "what did that !....least now we have a target to focus on".

”Heads up Van!!!” Kane said, notifying the younger comrade of the attacking demon. The two had quickly dashed off in the opposite directions, with Van moving to the right and Kane going to the left. All that remained in their stead was smoke and debris. Kane had slid to the side, looking at the demon. ”This thing’s pretty pissed!” At the same time, Van had slid from his previous positioning. ”I can clearly see that!”

Battling this monstrosity would be no easy task. It was evident that it was much more powerful, and engaging it would only deplete their energy. Kane had to make a decision, and quickly. With Nir out of the picture, and Benkei somehow finding the strength to continue, albeit in a weakened state, the group would not last against the demonic being. However, the arrival of Shinji had changed things.
